High-level dialogues on attendance at the Summit of the Americas, announces AMLO

A commission from the coordination of the Summit of the Americas will visit the National Palace today to meet with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and talk about the Mexican position that demands the inclusion of all the countries of the continent in the meeting. The delegation will be headed by a senator and the United States ambassador to Mexico, Ken Salazar, will participate in it.

This was announced by López Obrador himself during his conference in which he reiterated his position of not attending the Summit if some countries are excluded. He indicated that today the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard, and the Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, will talk by telephone ahead of next month's meeting.

“We are going to receive them and expose them because we believe that we should all unite and it is a stellar moment, it would be something extraordinary. It is to inaugurate a new stage in the relations between the countries of America. Let's hope and that we don't confront each other and if we don't manage to continue respecting each other anyway. That there are no sanctions or reproaches, there was simply no agreement, no understanding,” said the president.
