The British Chancellor of the Exchequer, questioned about his wife's tax exemptions

The millionaire Akshata Murty has the status of "not domiciled" in the United Kingdom

The British Minister of the Economy, Rishi Sunak , is being questioned this Thursday from various political sectors about his family's financial affairs, after it was leaked that his wife benefits from tax exemptions by declaring as "not domiciled" in the United Kingdom.

Sunak's wife, the millionaire Akshata Murty , has the status known as "non-resident", according to the website of the newspaper "The Independent", which means that she does not have to pay taxes in the United Kingdom on income obtained in the foreigner

Non-domiciled status refers to British residents who declare their permanent home or domicile outside the United Kingdom, taking as the country that the person's parent considered their permanent home when they were born, or it could also be the place in which abroad where the person has moved with no intention of returning.

To obtain proof of tax authority, "non-doms", as those who enjoy that status are known, must provide evidence of their origin, lifestyle and future intentions, such as, for example, providing information on where they own properties or where they want to be buried.
