Average price of gas rises, but maximums are respected: Profeco

 The average price for stationary tanks is 13.32 pesos per liter, while for gas cylinders the average price is 24.60 per kilo.

The Federal Consumer Prosecutor's Office ( Profeco ) assured that the average price of LP gas in Mexico has been increasing; however, the vendors of this fuel have respected the maximum prices that the federal government is implementing.

In the morning conference of President  Andrés Manuel López Obrador , the head of Profeco, Ricardo Sheffield Padill a, detailed that the average price for stationary tanks is 13.32 pesos per liter, while for gas cylinders the average price in the country it is 24.60 per kilo.

“Prices continue to remain below the average, the average has been increasing every week, as oil has been increasing, and all oil derivatives, but fortunately these maximum prices have been respected, there were many places that sold above these averages, with stratospheric profits, and we find stations that sell below the maximum prices ”, he assured.

He explained that the companies that sell more economically LP gas in its stationary version in the country are:  Gas de Hidalgo , in Hidalgo, with a price to the public of 12.22 per liter, Flama Gas , in Hidalgo, at 12.54 pesos, and Rivera Ga s, in Sonora, at 12.72 pesos.

While the cheapest in cylinder mode in the country according to Profeco are: San Luis Gas, in Nuevo León, at 21.85 pesos, Gas de Hidalgo, in Hidalgo, at 22.62 pesos, and Flama Gas, in Sonora, at 23.53 pesos. 

“We carried out 807 verifications, six were found to be an infraction and they were not allowed to be verified, those two are most likely selling stolen gas and we will be visiting them with an operation accompanied by the National Guard, and the Attorney General's Office, this is in Santa Rosa, Ocatlán, in Jalisco , and Crucero de Arrollo, in Jalisco ”, highlighted Sheffield Padilla.
